My shoot with Julia was the most surprising experience I have had as a mother of 2, ex high school teacher. I live in San Jose and Juila in La Jolla, but I knew I did not want to miss an opportunity where Julia is behind the camera.

Walking into the shoot, I thought I was going to get some nice photos for my husband but boy was I wrong. Julia, her set up, and her vibe made me feel very comfortable. I am not a model but her directions really help accentuate whatever it is she knew she wanted to capture. As awkward as my body felt, I fully trusted her vision and after 2 hours, I felt like I had just gone to a fast-paced pilates session—it was hard work.

As soon as Julia showed me the images, I was struck with a new feeling I didn’t know I badly needed. I didn’t have confidence issues and always knew that I loved myself but to be in awe of myself and appreciate what my body can do—that deep sense of gratitude, of admiration—it didn’t hit me until I saw what Julia captured.

So for all the females out there that don’t think they’re sexy enough or skinny enough, Julia’s art making through boudoir photography will show you otherwise. Trust her and trust the experience—being vulnerable and intimate with yourself is empowering.
